Essential Grammar for A1 Learners

Sentences: Subject + Verb + (Object).
Example: I eat an apple.
To be: Present: I am, you are, he/she/it is, we/they are.
Example: I am a student.
Simple Present: For routines and habits.
Example: I work every day.
Simple Past: For completed actions. Regular: add -ed, e.g., I walked. Irregular: go → went.
Present Continuous: Actions happening now.
Form: am/is/are + verb+ing. Example: I am reading a book.
Past Continuous: Actions in progress in the past.
Form: was/were + verb+ing. Example: I was watching TV yesterday.
Future Simple: Use for predictions or future plans.
Form: will + verb. Example: I will travel tomorrow.
Questions: Use Do/Does for present, Did for past.
Example: Do you like tea?
Negatives: Use do not/does not/did not or am/is/are not.
Example: I do not know.
Articles: a/an for non-specific, the for specific.
Example: An apple, a book, the sun.
Pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
Example: She is my friend.
Prepositions: in, on, at, to, from.
Example: on the table, in the box.
Adjectives: Describe nouns.
Example: a big house, a small cat.
